　　His vision, from the constantly passing bars,
　　has grown so weary that it cannot hold
　　anything else. It seems to him there are
　　a thousand bars; and behind the bars, no world.
　　隔着不时掠过的铁栏，他的目光

7 p" Y8 e4 H& T* O2 \& B　　承受哪怕一眼。似乎面前
) J3 e9 b, P1 s5 U6 n　　有千条栏杆;而栏杆之后别无他物。
　　As he paces in cramped circles, over and over,
　　the movement of his powerful soft strides
9 L3 q: d% Q, @6 c0 `　　is like a ritual dance around a center
　　in which a mighty will stands paralyzed.
　　他强韧的脚步灵巧地回旋，
　　在狭小的空间踱步不止，
　　仿佛某种祭祀之舞围绕着一个中心，
　　在中心一个伟大的意志眩晕。

　　lifts, quietly—. An image enters in,
  c9 j* @/ ~& v( V　　rushes down through the tensed, arrested muscles,
　　plunges into the heart and is gone.
　　只有时眼帘无声地撩起——
6 n  B, x  }& l' d　　一幅图像从瞳孔浸入，
　　穿过凝神僵立的躯体
　　投入心灵，又最终化为乌有。
